3 Years Strategic Career Blueprint (500 Words)
My strategic vision over the next three years is to step up from hands on IT Technical Support into a IT Executive role. I aim to build a well rounded skill set that combines my foundation in hardware diagnostics and component repair with enterprise networking, server virtualization, Linux administration, and basic programming. By combining real world troubleshooting experience with continuous learning and formal certifications, this blueprint outlines my pathway toward managing enterprise IT infrastructure and leading technology operations.
In my first year, my primary goal is completing my formal studies at UNITAR International University while mastering the core foundations of computer networks and Linux operating systems. To achieve my first goal, I will complete all reamaining diploma modules with a cumulative GPA above 3.50 by end of the academic year. To validate my networking capabilities, my second goal is to earn the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification withing the next eight months by dedicating six to eight hours weekly to packet tracer simulations and VLAN configuration labs. Lastly, I will master basic Linux command line administration over the next six months by configuring Linux virtual machines and practicing shell commands daily. My action plan involves applying these networking and Linux skills directly to my personal server lab, configuring soft routers and isolated network zones to build real-world confidence.
In the second year, I will leverage my expanding technical background to advance into an IT Executive position where I can oversee server operations and workplace technical systems. My main career goal is to secure a full-time role as an IT Executive or Systems Administrator within six months of completing my diploma, taking on greater responsibility for company infrastructure, network stability, and technical support. At the same time, my technical goal is to master enterprise server management using tools like Proxmox, Unraid, and Docker containers within eight months, ensuring reliable system backups and high availability. Throughout this transition, I will maintain my hands on edge by performing component level hardware diagnostics, motherboard repairs, and device maintenance whenever physical system failures occur. My action plan focuses on documenting these server setups and telemetry dashboards to demonstrate proactive system administration to employers.
In my this year, I will expand into basic programming and scripting to automate routine administrative tasks and lead larger IT projects. My primary learning goal is to gain functional proficiency in Python and Bash scripting within six months, enabling me to write automated scripts for server backups, log analysis, and system health checks. To validate my system administration growth, my second goal is to achieve an enterprise certification, such as the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or an equivalent cloud practitioner credential, by the conclusion of Year 3. Finally, I aim to lead at least two major company infrastructure projects, such as upgrading office network equipment, deploying automated backup pipelines, or setting up secure remote VPN access for staff. By combining hardware repair, networking, Linux, and programming, I will establish myself as a complete, future ready IT Executive.
